How to look after your lips this summer... for under a fiver!

I have been searching for the best products to care for lips this summer under a fiver and have decided to share the results with you!

Nivea Lip Care Light Kiss(£2.98) melts on the lips giving them the much needed care and moisture they deserve and tastes really good too for kissing ;-) It contains natural ingredients - almond oil and lotus extract to help achieve super-smooth and silky lips!

Collection 2000's new Balmglosses are amazing - a real mixture of lip balm and gloss! I love 'Passion' flavour, which is a gorgeous shimmery fushia pink shade. They are the only lip glossses to offer SPF20, which helps to protect and care for lips in the sun containing anti-oxidants, rose hips & mango extract. Avaliable in six delicious fruit flavours for the bargain price of £3.99.

What are your favourite products to look after your lips this summer?

Beautiful blow dry from Hob Salons

Last Saturday I went to London to see Dirty Dancing for my birthday an as a pre-show treat I visited the lovely hob salon in Camden. Situated right by the canal and convieniently two minutes walk from the tube station, the salon looks really impressive inside and out. hob salons are a Five Star Good Salon Guide salon group and are founder members of the Fellowship for British Hairdressing, an organisation dedicated to promoting the very best in British hairdressing.

I had a lovely wash and head message, followed by a really helpful consultation with Andrea who offered me several options for my blow-dry. In the end I opted for a natural blow-dry, with slight waves as my hair is wavy naturally. Andrea blow-dried my hair superbly, with the end result leaving my hair super-smooth and really sleek - which I can never do myself! I'd definately like to go back and have a hair cut and colour consultation, so will keep you posted if I do! Prices start from £25 for a blow-dry and you can find out more information at www.hobsalons.com

PS Sorry I don't have photos I forgot my camera... and I am a little camera shy but I can promise you the end results were good!

Introducing Elave - beautiful products for sensitive skin

I recently was introduced to Elave, who are specialists in products for sensitive skin that contain safe, non-reactive ingredients. They are also formulated with organic and natural ingredients where possible to intensively hydrate and softens even the most sensitive skin. As you know my boyfriend has very sensitive skin, so we were really pleased with the outcome after using the products for a couple of weeks.

Our favourite product is the Intense Moisture Surge (£30). It plumps up and softens dehydrated skin with elave dermo-cosmetic hydrating treatments. Shea butter and coconut oil cleanse, rehydrate and surge moisture back. Its unique blend of emollients help defend the skin against aging and improves cell regeneration, whilst coconut oil rehydrates and surges moisture back to calm and rebalance inflamed, dry or sensitised skin.

I really recommend trying Elave if you have sensitive skin but still want to use nice products. Here is a video below of founder Joanne Gardiner.... enjoy and let me know what you think!

Radox Shower Goodies!

For a tasty shower I totally recommend the new Radox Shower Smoothies, which smell lovely and feel great on your skin. The packaging cutely reads 'Please do not drink' in case you get confused with a smoothie drink   ;-) My favourite is the Natural Balance one, which is a luxurious Yoghurt and Honey flavour with Hyssop and Soft Almond bits. It also thoroughly moisturises your skin which is an added bonus and are great value at£2.50 each.
Also Radox have released a brand new Tea Infusions Range - shower and bath products infused with tea, which contains powerful antioxidants perfect for helping to revive and replenish the body and mind. The bubble bath is a real treat after a stressful day and soothing for tired skin.

Has anyone else tried the new range or a fan of the Shower Smoothies?

My review of the best of suncream for all budgets!

Hi guys hope you are having a lovely weekend and enjoying the sun! I've had a great day with my friends and family celebrating my birthday (which is tomorrow!) I spent the afternoon sunbathing in the garden and topping up my post-Turkey tan, so thought I would write about my favourite suncare products for this year that I recommend.

Best value suncare - Nivea have a great value product range and I am a big fan of their sun sprays as they as soon easy to use on the beach. Their latest range is caled Invisible Protection and is completely invisible funnily enough, so no more white streaks when you come out of the water!

Best natural suncare - a great brand called Aloe Pura have a lovely SP15 suncream and aftersun that smell delightful and contain Aloe Vera, Avocado, Jojoba, Chamomile, Lemongrass and Sweet Almond! They are available at Think Natural here for under £10 and leave you skin really smooth whilst protecting it.

Best luxury suncare - Clinique has created a whole new range of suncream which is out in June. Formulated with Clinique’s NEW Proprietary SolarSmart™ Technology, it contains a unique blend of photostable sun screens designed to help skin defend itself from UV assault. I recommend the new SPF 15 Face and Body Cream  (£14.68) for comprehensive cover this summer.

Most innovative suncare - The new Skinny Beach SPF 15 suncream works to immediately firm, lift and tone the body and also adds a natural sheen to skin - and protectsyou from the sun - what a combination! So you don't need to worry about missing the gym, as this cream helps combat cellulite!! It's a little more pricey than the others and is available from SpaceNK here.

Best post suncare product - Estee Lauder have a fantastic new range out for summer called Bronze Goddess which has a great variety of gorgeous products for the summer. My essential item is the Post-Sun Hydrator (£19.57) Prolonger that hydrates skin, soothes and replenishes with Aloe Butter and contains self-tan to maintain your sun-kissed glow day after day. Great for ensuring your tan doesn't fade as soon as you step off the plane! Let me know what you think of the products and what you have tried out!

Seductive lashes... from Lash Stiletto and Eylure!

I have been trying out party looks this week and am loving dramatic, smoky-eyes with long lashes. I love the new Lash Stiletto mascara from Maybelline, which really helps to lengthen lashes thanks to a new Stretch & Set brush, with unique criss-cross bristles. It doesn’t give as ‘thick’ lashes as the Colossus mascara, but is great for a sexy, seductive look. Panda Does Make Up also loves it as well – click here for her brill review!

If you want an even-more dramatic look, then go for false eyelashes as well and apply Lash Stiletto over the top (which is what the model in the photo has done!)  Eylure do a fab ‘Naturalites’ collection that are all reasonably priced and don’t look too fake! I love how gorgeous these lashes look and ensure your lashes don’t clump together. They have also collaborated with Girls Aloud to produce a collection for them that looks fab too. Has anyone tried the Girls Aloud lashes yet?

It's my birthday on Monday....!

and I will be 23 - scary! To prepare for my big night out on Saturday (I am going to see Dirty Dancing in London) I have been using the new E45 Endless Moisture range to rehydrate my skin and ensure it is moisturised all day. If you have normal or dry skin, day to day environmental stresses can dehydrate skin, leaving it feeling dry and dull. My favourite product is the E45 Endless Moisture Light Caring Body Milk which provides long-lasting moisture and protection from water loss, meaning your skin is as moisturised in the evening as when you applied the product in the morning. My skin feels so much smoother since using the range so I definately recommened if you are a dry skin sufferer and find that your skin is always dry. Has anyone else used this range and what do they think?

I will keep posting throughout the week about all the products I will be using for my birthday weekend!

Sarakan toothpaste... for pearly white teeth!

If you are looking for an alternative to high-street toothpaste, then you must try out the lovely natural Sarakan toothpaste. It contains the valuable extract of Salvadora and is flavoured with oil of peppermint, clove and geranium. Importantly it contains no alcohol, sugars, artificial colours or preservatives and is suitable for adults, children and vegans. It also does not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS) which is widely used in many oral health products as an artificial foaming agent.

It does taste slightly odd, as it’s not as ‘minty’ as normal toothpastes but that does show how many chemicals are added to simple products like toothpaste. You can buy Sarakan here at Holland and Barratt for £2.09.

Introducing St Ives Elements Collection

I love St Ives Scrubs and their face scrubs - they make my skin feel so smooth and really clean! Their latest range is called Elements and is a range of premium facial exfoliators with naturally active ingredients. Combining the very best elements of nature, the three latest scrubs, Microdermabrasion, Olive and Warming, gently cleanse, exfoliate and nourish to reveal healthy younger looking skin.

My favourite is the green Olive scrub which gently exfoliates away dead skin leaving it re-energised, moisturised and smooth.  It contains olive oil, olive leaf extract and natural jojoba bead exfoliants that allow it be used daily, giving skin a healthy glow every morning.  The Warming scrub leaves skin with a natural glow as it quickly warms on contact with water to relax pores for a luxurious deep, exfoliating clean. The gentle extracts of sunflower and chamomile smooth and calm skin as the all natural exfoliants - sugar crystals and jojoba beads - remove impurities and dull skin cells. Mild cleansers then lather into a creamy foam to wash away pore-clogging dirt and oil, leaving skin clean, fresh and radiant. I do like the warming scrubs as they really feel like your skin is getting a good clean!

The Elements range is available now with prices around £4.99 which is great value for a natural, paraben-free face scrub.

Good Skin Labs skincare range

There's been quite a lot of press about the Good Skin Labs products so I have been really keen to try them out for myself. Instantly filling fine lines and plumping skin, Good Skin Labs Tri-Aktiline Instant Deep Wrinkle Filler (£24.99) contains three special ingredients: Gatuline Expression, extracted from a South American plant to relax the face; Kombuchka PH Extract from sweet black tea to plump wrinkles; and Argireline to rebuild skin and boost natural collagen. It also contains silky optical diffusers to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. My mum has been using it for a week or so now and has reported that her skin feels much smoother. I will let you know how her skin looks in eight weeks! I have been using the lovely Smooth-365 serum before applying moisturiser, which I love. It’s a unique, potent and effective state-of-the-art complex that perfects the overall quality of skin’s appearance and leaves skin super smooth. All Good Skin Labs products are available exclusively at www.boots.com

Sleek MakeUP’s new GLITTER DIP IT liquid eyeliners

I love Sleek MakeUP’s new GLITTER DIP IT liquid eyeliners (£3.42) which are available now from Superdrug in five gorgeous shades - Diablo (Pink), Gem (Purple), Ice (Silver), Steel (Charcoal), Caribbean (Blue). The new eyeliner consists of a clear formulation infused with thousands of miniature glitter particles with light-reflective pigments that will give the eyes that diamond dazzle.

I applied them with a simple sweep of the brush across the eyelid create a more dramatic look that will accentuate the eyes and looks great when out clubbing! You can also use the Glitter Dips individually or team them with alternative eyeliner to create a daring evening look.  Overall they are fantastic value for under £4 and once applied they don’t wear off, unlike other liquid eyeliners I have tried! Definitely worth investing in for your make-up bag this summer! Check out their website here for all their products.

Ciate french polish set

I am currently on holiday for a few days in Turkey for a few days visiting my mum and having lots of fun! Tomorrow I have a manicure and pedicure booked so am looking forward to that - it's much cheaper in Turkey (about £12 for both!)

When I am back home in the UK I can't afford get a french manicure done every week, so I use the lovely Ciate French Manicure Colour Care (£7.95) This long lasting, fast drying nail varnish double act provides colour and care for nails at the same time and is reasonably priced. The white tip polish is fortified with a nylon solution that improves the strength of the nail tip and maintains durability, whilst its the pink varnish contains Keratin and Vitamin E for nail nourishment and nail growth promotion. If you're not sure how to perfect a french manicure, full step-by-step instructions are given on the packaging for you as well! I found the colours didn't chip for ages which was great and looked really natural too! I will let you know how I get on with the treatments tomorrow!

Dr Bach's Rescue Cream review

I have found a organic alternative to Eight Hour Cream, that is paraben and lanolin free - Bach's Rescue Cream (£6.95). It's a fab multi-purpose cream that soothes with flower essences to provide 24 hour care for dry, rough, sensitive skin. The Rescue Cream combines the 5 flower essences of Rescue along with Dr Bach’s cleansing essence of Crab Apple with intensive moisturisers to help rehydrate and care for skin. So like Eight Hour Cream, it's perfect for chapped, dry lips and any sores or burns you may have. Definately one to try out - you can buy it from Holland and Barrett here for only £6.95.

Estee Lauder iMatch review

Last week I visited the lovely Holly at the Estee Lauder counter in Southampton for my personal iMatch skincare consultation...and a mini makeover to finish off with! I arrived with no make-up and curly hair as I'd been swimming at the gym so was looking forward to being made to look glam! First of all you are asked a few questions about your skin type, what coverage you like etc and then your skintone is identified by a chart that is held to your face to get the best match.

My ideal foundation was the new Nutritious Vita-Mineral Liquid Makeup SPF10 (£23) which I was pleased about as I am a big fan of mineral make-up! Minerals in this lovely foundation help protect and fortify the skin to build up its natural defenses. Vitamins C and E help improve skin's overall condition and maintain its healthy radiance, whilst pomegranate helps protect against daily free-radicals. Holly also used the amazing Day Wear Plus moisturiser and Ideal Light Brush on Illuminator (£20.55) before applying the foundation to ensure my skin was super-smooth and radiant... with no dark circles under my eyes! I really recommend the iMatch service to identify your perfect foundation that Estee Lauder offers, so you don't end up guessing your skin tone! It's not as custom-made for your skin as the Prescriptives service but is much cheaper so worth checking out! Thanks Holly for a fab makeover who also showed me the new Double Wear Eyeshadows as well, ensuring I left looking super glam!

Introducing Green People

If you are a sufferer of ezcema sufferer like my boyfriend is, then you must check out organic skincare brand Green People, created by Charlotte Vohtz, whose daughter is an ezcema sufferer. Green People products offer excellent value as they are effective and concentrated so only a small amount is needed. Their products also contain a very high level of active plant extracts and are formulated using certified organic ingredients, containing over 90% active organic ingredients.

I recommend to try out the Organic Starter Collection (£25) to try out some of the key products and get an introduction to the brand. The Starter Collection is an everyday bathroom kit with all the essentials you need to keep your skin healthy and pure. My boyfriend normally can't use shower gel as the scent really irritates his skin but thanks to Green People's Organic Base Shower Gel (£8.28) he can. ensuring his skin is soothed whilst showering. Check out www.buyorganics.co.uk for more great organic products for all the family.

Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Facial Scrub Review

The past few weeks I have been testing the revolutionary new Simple Clear Skin Oil Balancing Facial Scrub (£3.99) which is perfect for oily or combination skin prone to blackheads (like mine!) The active ingredients absorb oil and helps keep blemishes at bay, but as it contains no perfume, no colour and no unnecessary harsh chemicals, it won’t cause irritation to your skin unlike other face scrubs. Definately recommend to anyone who suffers from blackheads as it really helps clear them and leave your skin smooth. On a seperate note, Simple's lovely Daily Radiance range will be featured as part of one of the challenges on the new series of Britain’s Next Top Model on Monday (27/04). The girls will strip off and re-enact the famous bathtub scene from American Beauty in a pool full of mangoes to highlight the natural goodness of the Daily Radiance range.  You can also follow Simple on Twitter too!

Good in Bed night moisturiser from Prescriptives

To rejuvenate tired skin at night, I have been using Prescriptives Good in Bed Skin Restoring Night Moisturiser (£38.17). This revolutionary night cream makes skin look instantly radiant before you to bed and even better in the morning! It contains a blend of moisturising shea butter and vitamin E, brightening grapefruit extract, light reflectors and self-tan that brings back the glow to your complexion. I absolutely love it and recommend it as a great base to use under foundation to add a ‘glow’ to your look!

Introducing Face Boutique

It's really embarassing if you suffer from 'teenage' skin spot outbreaks and still have to buy spot treatments when you're in Boots. However fear not, I love the beautifully packaged Face Boutique products which look great in your make-up bag with their chic packaging. I tried the gorgeous Starter Pack (£24) which is a handy selection of pure skincare products which are free from unnecessary chemicals and especially designed for teens and twenty somethings. My favourite product in the Starter Pack is the Spot-less Blemish Gel which contains witch hazel to dry out and treat spots - perfect for popping in your handbag for any emergencies.

Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream review

I am loving the sunshine today it's gorgeous! What has everyone been up to today to enjoy the sun? I have been working all day but had a nice walk during lunch which makes up for it!

Anyway back to the review, I have been using the lovely Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream (£26) recently after having a bit of sun exposure over in Germany last weekend! It's a medium-weight cream with soothing botanicals and antioxidant vitamins to maintain skin's moisture balance while improving its texture, helping to restore suppleness and tone. Sun really dries out your skin, so I was keen to restore the moisture lost whilst outside! The cream contains extracts of Mallow, Cucumber and Arnica soothe and hydrate the skin and it also contains aloe vera to moisturise and promotes healing. I love how easy the cream goes onto your face and leaves your skin completely smooth and hydrated. I definately recommend trying out if you have dry skin, that loses moisture and needs a nourishing boost this summer! Visit www.dermalogica.co.uk for more stockist details.

A little tip for Dermalogica lovers, Jersey Beauty Company has some great tax-free discounts on their site www.jerseybeautycompany.co.uk. Their prices also include delivery!

This weekend I am loving... Freedom 24:7 cordless straighteners

This weekend I am loving my new Freedom 24:7 cordless straighteners, which are so small and light so have been travelling with me everywhere! Obviously they won’t replace my trusty GHD’s, but they  do shape up very well and are a firm favourite of mine now. The ceramic and tourmaline plates heat up to 200 degrees in around 60 seconds and have variable heat settings for different styles. The straighteners come in black, satin red and white with their own matching charging stand. The USP of these straighteners is the convenience – they are small, light, can be used on and off the cord, can be charged in the car and last up to 60 minutes before recharging.  I have been taken them in my gym bag too, as they are so light and also to work for after work events, so definitely recommend them for their handiness and they leave your hair glossy and straight.

Sensual products from Cowshed

I love products from Cowshed, who have some really funky products out at the moment.  My favourite is Grumpy Cow Uplifting Body Lotion (£16), which is a citrus blend that contains essential oils of red mandarin, petitgrain and grapefruit. It smells delightful and makes your skin really smooth, keeping skin hydrated for 24 hours. The best factor about Cowshed is their products don’t contain Parabens, Petrochemicals, Sulphates and Artificial Colours which I think is becoming more and more important in the beauty market.

I’ve recently bought a new flat with my boyfriend, so I treated myself to some Grumpy Cow Uplifting Travel Candles (£20) that look and smell great, so will be perfect for my new home! The candles contain a citrus blend that leaves you feeling energised with essential oils of red mandarin, petitgrain and grapefruit. Red mandarin invigorates the senses whilst petitgrain purifies the mind. Blissful! Plus you can take them wherever you go as they come in a gorgeous box. They would also make a great present for somebody who enjoys travelling!

Get your nails in shape for summer!

As you all know very well, I am a big fan of Ciate and their uber-cool products! This time of year there is no excuse not to sort your nails out for summer, especially your toe nails! If you're not a fan of getting your nails done in a salon or you don't have the cash, I recommend the Ciate Diamond Shine Nail buffer (£4.60) to start off with. It has four different files for each stage of your manicure/pedicure and really helped me achieve shiny, smooth nails, without paying loads in a salon! I love the cool packaging as well.... not that I am a sucker for packaging though.. lol! Has anyone else tried any of Ciate's products, what do you think?

Gorgeous summer perfumes from DKNY

DKNY have launched two lovely fruity fragrances that I have fallen in love with for the summer. Firstly, Be Delicious Fresh Blossom which is a slightly stonger EDP. Fresh Blossom is the fourth fragrance in the Be Delicious range, and marries freshness, vibrancy, and femininity. The fragrance is a blend of sparkling grapefruit, cassis, and sunkissed apricot and apples. Also from April 18th, if you buy a DKNY Delicious fragrance in Debenhams you will get a free beach towel, which is so cool and looks great for the beach this summer!

DKNY Summer for Women is a lighter version of the original DKNY Women fragrance and is perfect for daytime wear. Fresh top notes of pink pomelo are crushed with white ginger sprinkle and mixed with a a medley of pink jasmine, blue peony, and juicy mango. I definately will be replacing my winter fragrances for these summer versions to brighten up my look!

For smokey eyes I am loving...Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil

For sexy, smokey-eyes I am loving the new Estee Lauder Double-Wear Stay in Place Eye Pencil in black
(£14.68).

It is a long-wearing eye pencil that lines and defines with smooth, even colour that stays put throughout the day, unlike most eyeliners that end up smudged all over your face!

I love the fact that the pencil has smudger on one end, which helps to blend the eyeliner in with eyeshadow, so it's not a harsh look. It then doesn't matter if you apply it a bit uneven! I am also visiting my local Estee Lauder counter on Saturday for an iMatch consultation, which I am very excited about! It will be good to compare the service to the lovely Prescriptives one, so will keep you posted! Has anybody else had the iMatch consultation already?

Schwarzkopf Asia Straight range...

Hi guys, sorry for the lack of posts have been sunnying myself in Germany, the weather has been so hot it's crazy!! But the downside of the heat is that my hair doesn't behave and gets really frizzy. Luckily I had my new Schwarzkopf Asia Straight range with me to control my hair in the heat so I didn't have to keep using my hair straighteners all day!

The range has a great anti-frizz effect and contains the intensely moisturising properties of Bamboo with the exotic beauty of Orchids, which leave hair nourished, visibly straighter and shinier. The range is available in a shampoo, conditioner and straightening balm and when you use all three products together it protects against frizz and humity which helps keep hair straight for longer! I have noticed a difference in the smoothness of my hair and it definately was much easier to straighten and kept smooth for much longer, even in the heat! The range is perfect if you suffer from frizzy har and are always having to straighten it (like me!) Plus prices start from £1.99 so it's purse-friendly as well - perfect for the summer!

Sorry!

Sorry for the lack of posts this weekend I am in Germany on holiday but will be back tonight and will post later I promise!

Barry M lipsticks....I love 100!

I am a big Barry M fan and think that their make-up is really great value and perfect for a night out. Tonight I am going out with my friends from the netball team and will be wearing the gorgeous dazzle dusts and lip paint (£4.25) in 100 (see above shade). It really stands out and brightens up your look and lasts for ages, even when you are drinking lots! What are your favourite Barry M products for a night out?

Shelly's Style

My Auntie Shell, is a great hairdresser and has a blog now which I helped her create on Sunday. So if you are a hair lover, then check out and follow her regular updates for the latest trends.

Get a bronzed look for Summer...!

I am going away in a few weeks and have been preparing to expose my body by using some great self-tanning products!  For instant, flawless tanning I recommend Fake Bake Airbrush Instant Self Tan (£27.95) which has a fast drying formula (dries in seconds)  which will develop in just a few hours into a perfect natural looking tan.  The refined 360 nozzle gives a continuous spray that works at any angle, ideal for those hard to reach places. Make sure that you cover up any white goods when you apply, as I had a few little accidents!

Here's a bit of an exclusive for you - Clinique are launching a fab new self-tanning range called Self Sun Collection in June which I am in love with! My favourite pieces from the collection are the Almost Bronzer (£21.04) and the Body Airbrush Spray (£14.68). The Almost Bronzer gives lovely sheer coverage and comes complete with broad spectrum SPF 15 protection, so a great added bonus which bronzers don't normally have. It consists of a light shade of bronze and a deeper shade, so you can tailor your look depending how bronze you want to be! Love it! The Body Airbrush Spray is similar to the Fake Bake Airbrush Tan, but it dries a bit quicker and leaves skin really moisturised and smooth. It also contains Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, which is a natural ingredient that helps to maintain moisture, soften and soothe the skin.

So I am all bronzed and ready to hit Turkey in a few weeks. Has anyone else tried any of these prodcuts or have any recommendations?

Great new exfoliator from NeoGlis

I have discovered a new brand called NeoGlis, an Italian line of skincare which is making its debut in the UK. They have some great has specific products to help tackle cellulite. I tried Futura Sweet Scrub (£45), a delicate skin smoothing scrub containing a mix of walnut and olive granules. I found it really easy to apply and it left my skin feeling extremely soft after use. It's really important to exfoliate throughout the year and remove dead skin, so you don't end up with dry, flaky skin in the summer. The Futura Sweet Scrub definately made a difference to my skin, so for a change I would recommend trying out a new brand and giving it a chance! you can buy online at www.neoglis.co.uk. The site is a bit strange though and is in Polish! Does anybody know any other places where you can buy this brand?

Great essential accessories from Wahl!

I am really looking forward to Easter and some more sunny weather - yay! This weekend I had a a really nice BBQ with friends on Sunday afternoon to celebrate me and my boyfriend buying a flat together, with a few glasses of champagne! Sunday morning I prepared a lovely healthy breakfast before going to the gym. I used my new Wahl Egg Boiler (£14.67), that cooks any number of egg's between 1 and 7. It allows you to choose between hard and soft boiled eggs and cooks them to perfection, letting you know once they are done. It is also very small and compact which helps when storing.  So there's no excuse to have a healthy breakfast now if you are in a rush!

REN Vita-Mineral Radiant Day Cream review

My boss is a big fan of REN skincare products, so we bought her a cute travel-sized gift set for her birthday. I was intrigued about the products as I have never used REN products before, so I decided to try out the Vita-Mineral Radiant Day Cream (£23), in my quest to brighten up my skin. The moisturiser is formulated to leave skin looking energised, radiant, smooth and hydrated, so just what I need!  Bio actives include trace elements (copper, magnesium, zinc), vitamin A from Rosehip Seed Oil, vitamin F from Arctic Cranberry Seed Oil and vitamin P from rose petals. Together they boost collagen production to help tone, firm and energise the skin giving a natural radiance to the complexion. It’s suitable for normal skin and has really improved my skin’s texture over the past few weeks – my skin is definitely more energised. I also love the fact that REN products don’t contain any synthetic ingredients, so they are good for my skin as well.

Gym products from Nivea!

I am a big fan of Nivea as you know and love their newly-launched body lotions and the cute packaging! My favourite is the new Irresistibly Smooth body lotion. I've been going to the gym a lot recently and it's the first product in my gym bag - perfect for making my skin really smooth after swimming, as my skin is always so dry with all the chlorine!  The lotion is enriched with Ginkgo Extract, Shea Butter, and Vitamin E and is so easy to apply to your body – I love it!

My boyfriend is also a big fan of the new Silver Protect deodorant for men NIVEA which has anti-bacterial silver ions that help to eliminate bacteria & prevent body odour. He says it’s perfect to keep him fresh during a long gym session and smells good too!

I love Prescriptives Custom-Blend!

On Saturday we were lucky enough to be invited by Prescriptives to try out their new custom-blend lipglos service, as well as having our very own custom-blend foundation created!  The Prescriptives Expert Blender identifies your skin’s undertone and creates shades and formulas that are perfect for your skin tone, so no more streaky foundation!

A lovely lady called Jo, from the Prescriptives counter in Selfridges created our make-up for us. Firstly you have a consultation about your skin type and what sort of coverage you wish to achieve. Then, your skin tone is identified and the foundation is mixed up for you. Jo was really helpful and made adjustments if you wanted it to be lighter or darker. As you can see from my sister's photos above, the foundation matched her skin tone perfectly and so did mine. In fact, when I apply my foundation now you can't even see it on your skin as it matches so well. It leaves your skin extremely smooth and helps my dry skin feel radiated. It's not cheap at £44 but is worth every penny. I've got my secret formula written down now, so I'll be using that for life! I have also been using the gorgeous vibrant-C skin brightening cream moisturiser (£36) before applying my foundation, as it is the perfect starting base and boosts skin's clarity, translucency and luminosity.

The custom lipgloss service is also equally fab and so much fun! You can create any colour, shade, texture and taste you want or match a specific shade or a favourite lipstick! I created a gorgeous fuschia pink shade, with glitter and a berry fragrance - my idea of heaven! For under £20, it's great value and is a perfect present for any female. You can see my photos above of Jo creating the lipgloss and my sister modelling the final result. What do you think - how good does my sis look? I'm not photogenic at all so I won't be putting any photos of me on here but I can promise you the results are great!
