Clarins Nude Inspiration Collection

I was sadly unable to make the Clarins bloggers event due to work commitments; I wish I was nearer London so I could attend some events! Never mind! The lovely Ally at Clarins was so generous and sent me a massive parcel of products to try out – quote from my sister ‘it’s like someone has tipped a Clarins counter in a bag and sent it to you!’. Wow! This isn't all the products in the photo - my sister stole half of them!!!I have been trying all the products for a few weeks now and really wanted to get a feeling for them as it’s hard to write a review when you haven’t really used the products for very long.

The products sent were all from the Clarins Nude Inspiration Autumn collection, which is stunning and has so lovely neutral colours which you can play with! I have a few favourites from the collection which are:

Joli Rouge 725 Pink Earth lipstick (£14.50)

Nude Inspiration Face & Blush Duo Compact (£28.00)

Concealer Stick shade 2 Pink Beige (£15.00)

I love the Joli Rouge lipsticks, which are so soft and creamy on your lips. I'd really like to try out a pink shade which is my usual colour of lipstick but it's a nice change to have something more natural. They also taste so amazing (I can't quite work out what yet?!) and you can tell this is a high quality lipstick from the smooth, seamless coverage on your lips. My only fault (which might be this particular lipstick!) is the lid keeps falling off in my bag!

If you only buy one product from the range then I recommend the Nude Inspiration Face & Blush Duo (£28.00) which is amazing and a daily must-have for me. The compact powder evens and sets make-up while the complementary blush palette shades can be blended together or applied alone, giving skin a really natural look for autumn. Finally I am also impressed with the concealer stick and have been using 'shade 2 pink beige' the past few weeks. For a concealer stick it is really smooth, as normally they are much 'rougher' and leave massive streaks on your face, but this one from Clarins applies easy and blends in well with my skintone. I have run out of Touche Eclat actually but haven't felt the need to repurchase which is excellent!

I was also sent some lovely bronzers and after sun products which I will reviewing after my holiday in a few weeks, am so excited now. I am off to sunny Spain on the 18th and am excited about trying out the new products! Thanks Clarins for giving me the chance to try out this lovely collection, I am really impressed with the products which are all excellent quality and well worth the cash. What did you guys who attended the bloggers event think? I hope Clarins do another one so more bloggers get the chance to go!

Strictly Come Dancing Teaser Video

Hey guys just a quick post with a teaser video for the new Strictly Come Dancing series which is back on our screens soon! I love this time of year where I can get back into reality TV shows - X Factor and Strictly, love it! Am not liking the new style X Factor though, it's lost the comical factor of the auditions. What do you think?

Yummy Clinique lip smoothies!

Hope you have all had a nice week - still no internet at home so am at my parent's house stealing my Mum's laptop lol! I thought I would write about an amazing new lipgloss from Clinique that also protects and defends delicate lips. It's called Vitamin C Lip Smoothie Antioxidant Lip Colour and is available in six juicy shades, rich in moisture and shine and tastes AMAZING. It combines the high shine and super moisturising aspects of a lipgloss, with the rich, long-lasting colour of a lipstick. The new formulation has taken powerful, 'good for you' ingredients and squeezed them into a gorgeous, colourful lip product with treatment benefits. This vitamin packed formula is enriched with a cocktail of ingredients, including the key antioxidants, Açaí Berry and Pomegranate to help protect against environmental aggressors and Vitamin C to improve the look and feel of lips instantly and over time.

My favourite shade is 'Pink Me Up' which is a lovely, light pinky shade that gives lips a really nice shine and improves the condition, as I find lipstick totally dries up my lips. So if you love lipglosses but like the benefits of a lipbalm then I recommend this lipgloss to you! It is available from Clinique counters for £13.50 which isn't a bad price at all. A definate new must-have! Has anyone else tried any of the shades?

Big shine with Bumble and Bumble

Arggh I have been feeling really ill the past few days with a horrid cold (not swine flu thank god!) and so has my hair which is in desperate need of highlighting to boost its radiance.

However I have been using this really fab product from Bumble and Bumble called Big Shine (£27.50) to make my hair super shiny! It comes in the most amazing packaging that looks so classy - I love it! The spray makes your hair glimmer with a silky, soft, smooth, sexy texture but doesn’t overload it and make it greasy like a lot of shine products do which is important if your roots are a bit visible (shiny greasy roots = not a good look!) I definitely recommend this product if you straighten your hair a lot and if it’s looking a bit dull – although its pricey it will last forever as you only need a tiny bit to add loads of shine!

Prescriptives All Skins Mineral Makeup review

I hope everyone had a good weekend? I still don’t have any internet – I hate Sky argghhhhh so am really missing blogging over the weekend L Hopefully should have the net in a few weeks so will keep you posted!!

Anyway onto more positive things – Prescriptives make up! I thought I would tell you about an amazing product I was sent a few weeks back and have been using religiously since!! Prescriptives All Skins Mineral Makeup SPF 10 is an all-day liquid mineral foundation that stays fresh and lasts up to 16 hours, while helping protect with non-chemical UVA/UVB sunscreen. It also contains an exclusive R.E.C. complex (Radiance Emitting Crystals--a unique combination of Amethyst, Rose Quartz and Calcite) to give skin extra luminosity and makes it really glow! I love this foundation as it is really light, but gives enough coverage (which I think tinted moisturisers don’t) and is good for your skin being a mineral product. It also blends in easy and looks really natural AND contains SPF 10 so has been perfect whilst we have been having this lovely sunny-ish weather! It is a little pricey at £24 from House of Fraser, but I think it is worth it and would recommend it if you have fairly good skin that needs brightening up!

What do you think? Has anyone else tried this? Have a nice evening lovelies…! xxx

Goodies from Boots!

I think I would share with you some photos of the lovely new autumn collection from No7 and 17 from Boots which I am loving this week that are now in stores across the UK.

17 Va Va Voom Volume Mascara has a huge brush with oversized bristles, that allows you to use the wand to create big, dramatic lashes in one easy sweep.. I must say I really like the packaging of this mascara and am impressed with how good my lashes look so would definately recommend this to try out - and it is under £6! I love the chunky brush and this is a great alternative to Benefit's Bad Lash mascara (much cheaper!!)

This lovely palette comes with four fool proof neutral eyeshadow shades that suit any skin tone and an eye pencil in a complementary colour for lining the eye, all packaged in a beautifully textured and deluxe compact - perfect for a smoky-eyed look. It is fairly pricey so would be a luxury item if you can afford it, but is a classic that won't go out of fashion! The eyeshadows also blend really easily and feel nice on your eyes, not thick and itchy like some eyeshadows.

Has anyone else tried these new products from Boots?

Wow poundland - where everything is £1!

Ok I admit I never really venture into my local Poundland shop (too busy, always hot etc!) but I was asked if I wanted to review some products, so I thought why not! I was sent a lovely bikini which costs £2 in total and is great for the beach; it survived my holiday well and looked good with a tan! I also love the beach towel – £1 for a towel is a real bargain and as it’s slightly thinner than normal beach towels it fitted perfectly in my beach bag. I would definitely recommend popping down to your local Poundland store – it is cheaper than Primark and the stuff is really good value, you can’t go wrong! Obviously if you are looking for a slighter better quality item then its not for you, but for a two week holiday it is fab. Check out what's on offer here!

Help combat frizzy hair!

Hi guys, hope you had a nice weekend! Wasn't it nice to finally have some nice weather for once! I went to the beach on Sunday which was so nice and went swimming twice in the sea (not good for the hair afterwards = straw) I had to wash my hair quickly and go out with the boyf so used my new Daniel Galvin Jnr's Crowning Glory Anti-Frizz Gloss Serum which I haven't had a chance to use yet. I wasn't really expecting much as I am a bit of a Tigi girl myself, but actually am really, really impressed - wow! I have thick/wavy hair which can be difficult to maintain but after using this serum once last night my hair is soft, shiny and smooth. It also smells so fresh and yummy - thanks to the organic cucumber and melon essential oilsand extracts. All you have to use is a 5p size amount of the serum (don't apply to the roots as it will make your hair look greasy) and leave to dry for natural, sleek waves. Plus it is only £4.99 from Waitrose so you can include it in your weekly shop!

What do you think, has anyone else tried this product? What are your top tips for sleek hair (I need them!)

My new flat!

As I am sure you may know I have recently moved into a new flat in Southampton (yay!) It’s brand new, lovely and perfect for me and my boyfriend, we love it! I thought I would share a few photos with you of it inside and my sister and her boyfriend working on putting things up/together! As you can see we have a very cream carpet which is not good for me spilling make-up and food on it!!

JML got in touch with me a few weeks ago and asked if I would like to review some products for my new home, which was very nice of them! I selected the Magic Tablecloth as it really intrigued me as to how it would work, plus it would be perfect for me to combat my clumsiness! When it arrived I must admit I wasn’t so keen on the pattern, but like the fresh white colour. Basically thanks to a special agent embedded into the weave of the fabric, the tablecloth resists soaks and stains and it actually does work!!! It has Spillguard technology which makes an impenetrable barrier that stops liquid seeping into the weave – it just seems to sit there on the fabric!! It is also totally machine washable and helps to protect your table! Plus you don’t need to keep washing your table cloth after every use! It’s a bargain £14.99 from JML – click here to buy!

I know this post isn’t beauty related but thought you might find it useful if you are looking for cool things to improve your home! What do you think?!

PS How cute does my sister look putting up the blinds?!

Neutrogena Spot Stress Control!

I thought I would write about Neutrogena’s new range which has been created for stressed skin – which I can relate too! Don’t you find if you are stressed that your skin reflects this as well? Argghgh! I love the new Visibly Clear Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub (I am a big face scrub fan lol!) which has a really creamy texture and gently exfoliates to unclog pores to penetrate deep down and help clear spots. It also smells lovely as it contains green tea and cucumber to soothe the skin without over-drying as my skin is quite dry. I am a big fan of Neutrogena products so give this the thumbs up if you suffer from spots but don’t have super oily skin!

My favourite products for the shower!

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend despite the hideous weather! I am at my mum's house tonight so am making the most of the internet! I thought I would write about my favourite products for the shower, as there are so many out there where are you supposed to start?! Anyway here goes - let me know what you think!

Best product for sensitive skin - Sanex Sensitive Shower Gel

As I have said before, my boyfriend has sensitive skin so finds it really hard to find a shower gel he likes that doesn't irritate his skin. He has been trying out some products from Sanex and is really impressed. The Intensive shower gel helps your skin to work to its natural best by stimulating the skin's natural processes. It also contains soothing Vitamin E which help leaves your skin feeling moisturised and much more comfortable. The products are also really cheap, under £2 for a big bottle of shower gel that works really well - what a bargain!

Best smelling product - Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel

I looovveee strawberries and their smell, so have always been a big fan of the Body Shop's strawberry range. The shower gel in the range smells amazing and makes your skin so smooth after using. If you use the body butter as well after your shower, then you are guaranteed to smell like a strawberry all day - lovely!!

Best revitalising product - Garnier Bodytonic Sugar Scrub

This product has received the thumbs up from a lot of bloggers who attended the Garnier event and I have to agree with them - this body scrub is fabulous! It smells great and a little bit goes a long way which is really good for a body scrub as they don't normally last that long. I have been using this several times a week in the shower to smooth out my skin and am really impressed with the results - my skin is sooo smooth and has started to feel a lot more toned! I definately rate this as the best body scrub ever and urge you to try it out for yourself!!

So what do you think - what are your favourite shower products? I'm off to use them all in the shower now...!
