Piz Buin Wet Skin Sun Spray

Yesterday evening I attended the exiting pool party press launch of Piz Buin Wet Skin Sun Spray at the Henderson Hotel in London. I'm a big fan of Piz Buin and their allergy range in particular so was intrigued to find out more about their latest launch. Unfortunately I was a  bit late and missed the Aquabatique show in the pool.

Piz Buin has created a Wet Skin Transparent Sun Spray in SPF 15 and SPF 30 to provide wet skin with protection from the sun. Apparently this is a key period where you are likely to burn your skin, the drying off process after getting out of the water. I always lie down for at least 10 minutes and let my skin dry which is a real danger period for burning.

The new products can be applied directly onto wet skin, by cutting directly through water and forming a barrier between the formula and the water droplets. The spray can also be used on dry skin too. The ingredients used include polyester, resin and silicone and are included to ensure fast absorption of the oil, and vitamin E protects from free radicals and skin ageing. The Piz Buin dermatologist also told us that Vitamin E is a key ingredient to look out for in your suncream, as it helps to stop ageing from the sun. There are no plans for the moment for the range to include a face cream which is a shame as I don't usually fancy spraying suncream directly onto my face!

I will do a full review of the products when I go away in June but wanted to let my readers know about the new product as it launches this week. The products are priced at £17.99 for 150 ml and launches nationwide this week in the usual stores. Look out for the special promotions Boots and Superdrug usually have in the run up to summer to get a good deal.

Revlon Grow Luscious mascara

I was sent a sample of the new Revlon Grow Luscious mascara a few weeks ago and have been using it for the past few weeks after my sister raved about it having purchased on holiday in the US. I must admit I have never previously tried a Revlon mascara as I am usually a Maybelline fan, so this was a first for me. This is the first Revlon mascara that helps lashes grow stronger, while claiming to add length and volume. As you can see from the photo below, it certainly has added volume & length to my lashes.

The brush size is huge and resembles Benefit's Bad Lash or Dior's Dior show mascara for size and quality but only costs £9.99 (currently £2 off in Superdrug at the moment. I think I need to try it for a bit longer to prove whether my lashes have actually grown but if they do - then great! It certainly  feels nice on my eyelashes and doesn't irritate like other mascaras.

What do you think? Has anyone else tried this mascara & seen results so far?

I'm back!

Hi guys, hope you haven't missed me too much! I'm back after ten lovely days in the sun in Istanbul, wishing I could be back there! I thought I would write a brief summary post about my key products/items I used whilst away - I had to really cut down on my normal beauty bag and wardrobe thanks to Easy Jet's 20kg weight limit grrr! Does anyone else have that problem when they go away?! It's so hard deciding what to take!

Anyway, here are the key products that I used and loved whilst away in the heat!

This new mascara from Bobbi Brown is great for taking away, as it is really small and doesn't take up lots of space! Plus it has a unique multi-comb brush which enhances your lashes and makes them really curly! What I also like is despite the heat, the mascara doesn't smudge all down your face - genius!

This intensely after sun mask smoothes your hair after the abuse of chlorine, sun and salt! I used this frequently throughout my holiday and since I have been home and my hair looks really shiny and feels so soft. I really recommend using this product whilst away if you have thick, dry hair like mine and it ensures your hair is sleek and not a giant frizzball in the humidity! It also is so much easier to straighten your hair after using.

This new organic range is available in Superdrug and is priced really low for organic products, which is a bit of a first. Purity Organic Skincare is Ecocert certified, with 92.2% of the ingredients of natural origin and an average of 82% of the ingredients processed from organic farming. I particularly love the Night Cream, which is a light mousse moisturiser with a blend of coconut based ingredients plus sweet almond oil, shea butter, and vitamin E. It has quite a thick texture which normally I don’t like, but whilst away in the intense sun I found it really helped keep my face moisturised and left my skin feeling soft in the morning.

4) Freya Malibu Lagoon Bikini

I was very lucky to be sent this amazing bikini to try out whilst I was away! I must admit I have never really spent much money on bikinis, purely because I don’t see the point and haven’t noticed the difference in quality. However, Freya Bikinis I have discovered are extremely high quality and look and feel amazing! I loved my Malibu Lagoon design, which features an Oriental inspired print with a modern twist. Exotic birds and shapes in cool aqua, cobalt, & cornflower blue are emphasised by a bright white base. Ornate beaded details embellish each piece and the fabulous shapes will make you feel sexy and cool. I also liked how well the top fitted me, as normally I find it hard to get a top that fits. But as Freya supply bikinis in bra sizes, a 34D fitted me perfectly and really enhanced my natural assets! Plus it also shows off an amazing tan! It also hasn’t faded all week, which I am very impressed with – thumbs up from me!

Ok enough ranting from me - let me know what you think! What are your key products for summer?

Gorgeous new range from Herbal Essences!

When I saw Herbal Essences had relaunched their range, I was intrigued to try it out - was it simply a 'relaunch' of packaging or a genuine new range?

I am a big fan of Herbal Essences anyway and love the silk and shine products, so would definately recommend the new Seductively Straight shampoo and conditioner (£3.29 each) I love the gorgeous pink packaging and the new thickness of the products, which the old range didn't have. The result so far is my hair is really sleek and shiny so am impressed! However one disadvantage is I do feel that the smell isn't as amazing as the previous range - it's less 'fruity' :-(

Currently Superdrug are offering them buy one get one free, so head down there pronto for some bargain hair care!

New anti-ageing range from Simple launches in January

Hot off the press, Simple are launching a revolutionary new anti-wrinkle range in January! I am a big fan of Simple products, contaning natural ingredients and reasonably priced. Active ingredients, including Iris extract and a blend of vitamins and minerals, complement Simple’s unique formulation for sensitive skin by harnessing the power of nature. The products make your skin really soft and smooth, so are a lovely treat to use.

The range consists of a day cream, a night cream and an eye cream and starts from £7.50 from Boots and Superdrug.

Nutri Heat Hairdryer

After seeing the NutriHeat Nourishing Hair Dryer on the TV, I was keen to try it out especially as it is being endorsed by celeb hairdresser Trevor Sorbie. Firstly, you insert a capsule into the hairdryer, which produces silk proteins into your hair, protecting and hydrating hair. This helps eliminate frizzy and unruly locks like mine! Definately a great purchase for a last minute Christmas present. Superdrug are selling it for £21.99 at the moment - click here to buy!

Moxie - the cutest tampons ever!

This weekend I have discovered the CUTEST new range of sanitairy products ever! Introducing Moxie, a brand new range of gorgeous and girly feminine hygiene products from Australia. Think beauty mixed with fashion and you’ve got Moxie; a range of products that delivers classic femininity, style, convenience and excellent quality all in one. Moxie’s aim is to combat those issues that have annoyed women for ages – things like those cheap and flimsy packs that break open in your bag, causing tampons and towels to spill into (or out of!) your handbag.

Launched in Superdrug in October 2008, Moxie has arrived in the UK to bring a touch of fabulousness to that most oftendreaded ‘time of the month’. With a range of tampons, towels and panty liners, Moxie has a product to suit your needs, every day of the month. Complete with 100% recyclable or reusable tins and 1930’s-esque, candy-striped ‘boudoir boxes’ that are colour-coded by absorption, Moxie is the perfect necessity for every dressing table and handbag. Anything to make periods more bareable and this new range will brighten up your day! Prices range from £1.79-£2.99.
