Clinque Moisture Surge Intense hydrator

Clinique have announced that early in the New Year they are introducing the new Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydrator (£32), which I have been lucky enough to try the past few weeks. I am a big fan of the Moisture Surge range and use the Sheer Moisture Tint and Day Cream for my dry skin. I love the smooth of the range and how soft they make my skin so was looking forward to trying the new addition out!

For drier and more delicate skins in need of intense hydration, the rich cream-gel was designed to satisfy the needs of those looking for extra moisturising benefits by offering a double-hit – maximum hydration plus moisture barrier repair technology. After just three days of use, clinical tests show that skin’s moisture barrier is dramatically strengthened and improved. I would definitely say my skin needed the boast and noticed it had felt more hydrated. I work in an office with air conditioning so need as much moisture as possible on my skin to ensure it doesn’t dry up throughout the day! Your skin is left with a healthy, dewy, supple look and stays comfortably plumped for up to 24 hours :)

Gel texture of the hydrator

So in conclusion a luxurious cream which instantly leaves the skin with a velvety soft feel, LOVE it! :)
RRP £32.00 / €45.50

Available from January 2012

Clinique review by my Mum!

Sometimes when I am reviewing items I feel that it is difficult to give a 'proper' review, as I am not the intended target audience. Like anti-ageing items for example - I do take good care of my skin and cleanse, tone and moisturise every day but I am only 23 so who knows if it has an effect now!! However when buying presents for my mum I always take recommendations from reviews I read on blogs so thought I would ask my mum to write about her favourite eye cream which is her HG product. So here goes.. as written in the words of my mum! My love for Clinique is purely down to her, thanks to her always using Clinique skincare products and me secretly trying them in the bathroom!

'I was asked to review Clinique's All about Eyes (£22) by my daughter to see how it compared with other eye creams I had used in the past. As a lady fast approaching 50 I believe it is important to use the right products for your skin so I was intrigued to see if all about eyes could make a difference. The first thing you notice is just how creamy, smooth and light it is. The velvet gel cream glided over the skin, absorbed quickly and did not leave it feeling sticky. I applied it after my normal cleaning routine night and day under and over the eyes. The cream is a unique combination of botanicals, proteins and anti-oxidants that work to fade the look of under-eye darkness, decrease puffs and strengthen skin against enivronmental aggressors.

After just a couple of weeks use I noticed a huge difference. The dark areas had diminished considerably and it works very quickly to reduce any puffiness particularly first thing in the morning. It is the first time i have seen an eye cream make such as difference. I will certainly be continuing to use it on a regular basis.'

Thanks Mum for the recommendation! Who else has asked their mum to review products before?

Tried and tested - the new Génefique from Lancôme

I have been really excited this week trying out the new Génefique Youth Activating Concentrate from Lancôme. It arrived in the box pictured above and when you opened it the box actually lit up - how clever!

Here is a little more info on the product. Firstly, it is the result of a ten-year research project and with a huge seven patents to its name, it is a pretty innovative product! The studies behind the Génefique Youth Activating Concentrate claim to have unlocked the protein profile - like a barcode - in the genes of young skin, and thanks to its active contents derived from the Bifido bacteria, help boost these proteins to give the face a more youthful appearance. Wonderful..!

You just use a couple drops a day under your ordinary moisturiser once or twice a day, before applying any make-up. It goes on really easily and makes your skin lovely and soft and my complexion definately appears more radiant.  The damage is £52.50 and will be available at Lancôme counters nationwide from March 1, so a perfect Mother's Day gift!

Look after your skin with Clinique...

I am a massive fan of Clinique's skincare ranges and have been trying out some of the products this week in order to combat my tired, sun-deprived skin! For dry, dull skin (like mine!) I recommend the new Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief and the new Turnaround range, which are both fabulous for boosting skin’s radiance.

My favourite is the new Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief (£26.43) which gives an immediate moisture boost and feels so soothing on your face. It instantly refreshes and calms skin and has a great texture as it is not too thick - you can really feel your skin absorbing it. If you love facials (who doesn't!) but can't afford the hefty price tag every few weeks, then you must try out the new Turnaround Instant Facial (£29.36) which has all the radiance and smoothness of microdermabrasion but with less irritation and stress to skin, so it is not as harsh. I also love the new Turnaround Body Smoothing Cream (£22.51) which smells gorgeous and unveils silkier, more refined skin all over by reducing rough patches and dry skin - lovely!

My sister has also been trying out the Anti-Blemish range, which she swears by so will post her comments shortly!
